FPL is very experienced with a variety of alternative project delivery methods, including design-build, construction management / general contractor (CM/GC), and public-private partnerships (P3) for both vertical and horizontal projects.
FPL’s design-build project experience ranges from highway projects throughout the Western United States, including toll projects; higher education facilities; transit projects; civil facilities; mixed use developments; active transportation projects; and emergency water line repairs. FPL has been involved in dozens of design-build projects.
Meanwhile, though the structure of a CM/GC project results in the unlikelihood of a design firm contracting under a CM/GC, because of FPL’s traffic engineering expertise and our experience with alternative project delivery, FPL is well-suited for supporting CM/GC’s as construction staging changes frequently require corresponding worksite traffic control plans. FPL’s CM/GC experience includes the SANDAG Mid-Coast Corridor Transit project in San Diego.
As Southern California trends toward more P3 projects, FPL is ready to draw upon our P3 experience with projects such as the 91 Express Lanes in Orange County and the SR-125 Toll Road in Chula Vista to support clients for achieving successful project delivery.
