FPL’s bridge project experience ranges from freeway high occupancy vehicle (HOV) connectors to bridges overcrossing railroads and railyards, waterbodies, and streets and highways, while grade separation projects have included work with agencies such as POLA, POLB, OCTA, and SANDAG. In particular, FPL has been involved in five bridge projects overcrossing the Los Angeles River, including the historical 1st Street viaduct which was widened to accommodate the Gold Line Eastside Extension, as well as the Riverside Drive viaduct replacement which also constructed the City of Los Angeles’s first roundabout. For the City of Los Angeles’s “on-call” Bridge Improvement Program alone, FPL has participated in a variety of task orders involving approximately one dozen bridges.
